I am both in front of and behind the camera. With saturated colour and careful lighting, I depict moments of everyday life, which once recorded, become fragments of an imagined narrative. The before and after is left unknown and so open to multiple interpretations. Inspired by traditional painting and the visual power of cinema, I experiment with staging myself in portraits, adopting many different personas hoping to create an ostensibly beautiful scene which touches on feelings of vulnerability and isolation. I like to play with the idea of spectacle and performance, exploring how the viewer interacts with the figure in the images.
